Women’s Circle:
7.30pm on Friday 24 July
On the evening before the wedding, we’ll be gathering for a private women’s circle on the beach (weather permitting) at 7.30pm on Friday 24 July, and anyone who feels called to join is very welcome.
The evening will be hosted by Helene from The 8 Moons, who creates beautiful ceremonies in Haarlem and Amsterdam. I’ve been lucky enough to experience some of her cacao ceremonies and sound baths before, and they have always been incredibly special, so I’m delighted she can hold this space for us the night before the wedding.
We’re hoping to share cacao together — a gentle heart opener — followed by a crystal sound bath, creating a calm and grounding moment by the sea before the celebrations begin. The session will last around 1.5 hours.
If it’s your first time taking part in something like this, please know that all are welcome, and you’re invited to join in only as much as feels comfortable for you. It will be a very special and relaxed experience ✨

Good rental options in Haarlem:
Black Bikes – central, daily 09:00–18:00, Houtplein 22.

Green Bikes / Bike Tours Haarlem – clear daily rates; city bikes from ~€15/day.
The Netherlands
Cash Vs Card: Most places are card-only. Contactless debit/credit cards and phones (Apple/Google Pay) work everywhere, but Amex isn’t always accepted. Carrying some euros in cash is handy, but you may not need it often.
Transport: Trains, trams, and buses all use tap-in/tap-out contactless (just use your bank card/phone). No tickets needed.
Cycling culture: Bikes rule the road here. Always look both ways for bikes — they’re fast and quiet! If you rent a bike, stick to cycle lanes (marked in red).
Taxis & Uber: Taxis can be pricey compared to the UK. Uber works well in Amsterdam and Haarlem but is limited in smaller towns like Zandvoort.
Language: Dutch people speak excellent English — you won’t struggle. Still, a friendly “Dankjewel” (thank you) goes a long way.
Shops & supermarkets: Supermarkets like Albert Heijn are everywhere and great for snacks and drinks. Most shops don’t open late at night.
